ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to assess home economic education level of awareness among junior secondary schools with a particular reference to Akpaboyo local government area of Cross State. To achieve this objective, three research questions and two research hypotheses were formulated to guide this study. The data collected were analyzed using simple percentages and tables to analyze research questions and Chi-square statistical tool was used for testing of research hypotheses. A structured questionnaire was used as the major instrument for data collection from the respondents in Akpaboyo local government area of Cross State. After the careful analysis of the data, the following findings were revealed that; there is a significant level of awareness of home economics education in junior secondary schools and there is a gender influence of home economics education in junior secondary schools. The study was concluded with some recommendations that all teachers of home economics at various levels should create a good learning environment that is capable of motivating students to participate in home economics lessons and government should provide conducive learning environment in all public secondary schools and also monitor private schools, set standards for all schools to comply or close them.
