ABSTRACT
The Project Design and implementation of an E- request system for plumbing is a complete multi-user website. The system helps engineers to make a request electronically for plumbing by choosing the listed products from website.This system provides an efficient way of adding almost all the features of the E-request. In the cause of writing this research, HTML, CSS, PHP, JS and Sublime text were used to design the system (front end) and Xampp Server was used to store the database (back end). The website has a large memory of storing all the plumbing materials and also keeping record, it is highly effective and accurate.

INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background of Study
Request is the act of asking for something to be given or done. Hence E-request system is a web bases system that has been designed to handle request from an end-user. Since the emergence of World Wide Web (WWW), vendors can easily sell their electrical products including plumbing to the different kinds of people over the internet. Many people prefer E-request system because of its different kinds of convenience. They can find a specific product by making a request or placing an order which is less time consuming and tedious process rather than searching this product in various stores in the market.
The e-Request system is designed to be flexible enough to accommodate almost all the E-requests for plumbing. Plumbing is any system that conveys fluids for a wide range of applications. Plumbing uses pipes, valves, plumbing fixtures, tanks, and other apparatuses to convey fluids.Heating and cooling (HVAC), waste removal, and potable water delivery are among the most common uses for plumbing, but it is not limited to these applications.The word derives from the Latin for lead, plumbum, as the first effective pipes used in the Roman era were lead pipes
The major categories of plumbing systems or subsystems are
- potable cold and hot tap water supply
- plumbing drainage venting
- sewage systems and septic systems with or without hot water heat recycling and graywater recovery and treatment systems
- Rainwater, surface, and subsurface water drainage
fuel gas piping.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
There are many online businesses on the internet. People have many choices to buy products or request for services through the internet. These products and services include household equipment, electronics, clothing products and many more. Now a day's people are so busy that they have no time to go to shopping malls and buy the things they want or seeking for a professional services to fix plumbing issue and this was the problem primarily intended for E-request system to solve. That's why importance of E-request system is increasing with the passage of time and one cannot deny this fact. Moreover many E-request system not only give you huge discounts on different products but at the same time they provide low cost services to whatever destination provided it’s in the shop’s agreed location’s. E-request system not only save your time but it saves lots of your money by not going to visit each shop looking for plumbing services. E-request system gives you benefit of comparing same products at different online shops at the same time which you can't do in a physical store. So you cannot only compare the quality of products but also their prices as well.
1.2 Objectives
The main objective of this study is to Design And Implement An E- Request System For Plumbing.
Specifically the study intends to:
- To design a web based system for sales of plumbing materials
- To store product detail using a secure database
- To automate a system that will provide professional plumbing services to users upon request.
- To design a system that will manage every user’s information on the database.
1.3 Significance of the Study
- This research work is to develop a system capable of handling order by automating a cart system that stores details prior to when the user requests for plumbing services. This research work is a cost effective and conducive method for buying and selling and easier method for a customer to get their desired goods easily
- It is important to students especially those in computer science as a reference material when designing their project
- Lecturers who teach system analysis and design can also benefit from it as a guide to what they teach students
- Workshop and conference paper presenters will make use of this especially those presenting design and implementing of E- Request System For Plumbing.
- Manufacturers of industries that produce goods plumbing materials will make use of this work in marketing their products especially online. Therefore this provides a new avenue for product marketing by managers of industries.
1.4 Scope of the Study
This study is limited to design and implementation of E- Request System For Plumbing. In the cause of writing this research, HTML, CSS, PHP, JS and Sublime text were used to design the system (front end) and Xampp Server was used to store the database (back end).
1.5 Limitations of the Study
Financial Constraints: The researcher was with limited funds and cannot visit all the areas to get responses or materials but she was able to get good information concerning the research topic.
Time Constraints: The researcher was involved in other departmental activities like seminars, attendance of lectures et.c which limited the time for the research but the researcher was able to meet up with the time assigned for the completion of the research work.
1.6 Definition of terms
COMPUTER: This is an electro-mechanical device that is capable of accepting data as inputs, stores it, processes the data and outputs it as result or information.
DATA: Data are raw facts which undergo processing and become information. They are also the simplest unit of information that can stand on its own.
DIGITAL CERTIFICATE: It is a certificate that enables a merchant to do on-line business and it is been issued by a corporate body.
GATEWAY: This is a device that connects two computer networks that cannot be connected in any other way.
HYPERTEXT DOCUMENTS: They are documents written with HTML, ASP, ASP..NET, PHP, JAVA SCRIPT PAGES (JSP), CODE FUSION, PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES.
INTERNET: It is an interaction of computer networks connecting other networks from computers, companies, houses etc.
ISP: (Internet Service Provider):This is a company(s) that provides internet access to homes or business users.
MERCHANT ACCOUNT: It’s a contract under which an acquiring bank extends a line of credit to a merchant who wishes to accept payment card association brand
MS SQL: This is relational database server that is ideal for both small and large applications.
PROGRAM: A program is a sequence of instructions written in a computer to execute a certain task and solve a problem. A program must possess clarity, be specific, effective and user friendly.
WWW (World Wide Web): It is a multimedia interface that connects us to resources such as documents, e-mails, chat, web sites that are available on the internet with the computer.
